MEET LOUISA
Louisa grew up in the UK but was always drawn to life overseas, studying in Lausanne in Switzerland (which was when she first fell in love with Verbier) and later living in Belgium.
But not even the best Belgian beer could keep her from heading to the mountains and pursuing her dream of ski instructing!
Teaching wasn’t a new job for her though – Louisa had plenty of experience working in a nursery school, sports coaching in primary schools as well as voluntary work at an after school clubs in Belgium.
Her goal is to share her favourite things about skiing – the community, the sense of empowerment that comes with progression, and of course, the amazing scenery.
When she’s off the snow, she explores creativity through her other passion, metalwork, crafting handmade jewellery. The mountains and natural world provide much inspiration!

SOME LOCAL KNOWLEDGE:
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOUNTAIN RESTAURANT?
“There are a lot of great places but Cabane Mont Fort is extra special. First of all, it’s an excellent ski to get there and then depending on the weather you can choose between the traditional, very cosy hut or outside on the beautiful terrace with the most spectacular views. The surroundings, the history and the delicious menu make it a very memorable experience!”
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SKI AREA?
“La Chaux is fantastic for all skiers, it’s a sunny spot and has a lot of terrain to play with depending on what you are looking for. I am a big fan of Bruson as well – it’s a great area to explore especially when Verbier is on the busy side. The pistes wind their way among the trees and you can enjoy the amazing views back over to Verbier.”
WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE FOR APRES?
“I would recommend Lumi, right across from the Medran lift – great atmosphere, regular live music and an easy-going vibe.”
WHAT’S YOUR BEST TIP FOR A HOLIDAY IN VERBIER?
“Take some time to explore the 4 Vallées if possible – there is so much more to offer than first meets the eye.”
